GES Family Center Page on Facebook

Families can follow the GES Family Center Page on Facebook for school news and events; parenting tips and techniques; and other relevant and valuable information. For example, today we are highlighting the article referenced by Dr. Little about how to talk to children about disturbing news in response to the Florida school shooting. In March, we will be featuring short videos and tips on parenting techniques to teach the concept of responsibility to our children. Each month will focus on a different technique to empower our families to make the most of the opportunities they have to teach their children.
Thank you for your interest.

Literacy Night/March 1

Thursday, March 1 GES will be hosting a Literacy Night for students and parents from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The featured writer that evening will be Melinda Long. She will be at our school all day speaking to our children and presenting writer workshops in each grade level. In the evening she will discuss writing with the parents. There will be activities and games for the entire family.

Jump Rope for Heart Update

GES has raised a total of $4,300 online for the American Heart Association and are close to reaching our goal of $7,500. This Valentine’s Day we are encouraging 100% of our students to love their hearts by registering for Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart and taking the Health Challenge. Join our mission go to www.heart.org/jump and join our team. Your student will receive a gift for taking that one step and if they receive at least one donation online they will also receive their first monster. Our schools’ goal is 100% of our students taking the Health Challenge to love their heart and to raise money to support the mission of the AHA.
