GES Spirit Night

Since 1941

GES Spirit Night is Thursday, November 9th at Groucho’s Deli. Come on out to 117 1/2 East Main Street, Lexington for a delicious sandwich, sub or salad for lunch or dinner. Be sure to tell your waitress that you are supporting Gilbert Elementary’s PTO.

Honoring Our Veterans

On Friday, November 10, 2017 the fifth grade students will be hosting our annual Veteran’s Day Program in the Gilbert Elementary School Cafeteria. The program will begin at 8:00 am. The 3rd and 4th grade students will be in attendance as we honor veterans in a special way and show them that we are grateful for their service to our country. Please have your child wear red, white and blue to show patriotism. Fifth graders, remember that you are wearing blue jeans and a plain red shirt or a plain white shirt.

Grandparents are Grand!

The GES students had so much fun eating with their grandparents. We would like to thank the cafeteria staff for cooking such a delicious hot breakfast. Many of the students were able to talk their grandparents into buying books for them at the book fair after breakfast. What a special treat! Spending time with loved ones and taking home a special book to read!

We would like to thank our PTO and many volunteers for helping to make our Grandparents’ Breakfast a success.

Keeping Our Youth Drug Free

Monday, November 6, 2017 parents and any interested adults from GES and GPS are invited to attend a meeting at 6:30 pm in the Gilbert Elementary Cafeteria to learn about keeping our youth drug free. The session will be provided by LRADAC. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic being discussed, we ask that only adults attend. Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see many of you there for this informative session.
